We've been installing windows long enough to know where corners get cut and how to avoid it. Whether you're replacing one problem window or doing a whole house, we assess the opening, specify the right product for the application, and install it properly. New England winters don't forgive sloppy window work. We don't do sloppy window work.

Window installation FAQs
New construction windows are installed into a rough opening — typically during a new build or addition when the framing is exposed. Replacement windows are designed to fit into an existing frame without disturbing the surrounding trim or siding. Most residential window projects are replacements — we assess your situation and tell you which approach is right.
Most window replacement projects can be completed in one to two days depending on the number of windows. Larger projects or installations requiring rough opening modifications take longer. We give you a realistic timeline during the estimate.
It depends on the scope. Straight replacement windows that don't alter the rough opening typically don't require a permit in Massachusetts. Changes to the rough opening size or new window installations in new construction do. We assess what's needed upfront and handle permitting in-house.
All of our preferred brands offer energy efficient product lines. Key things to look for are low-E glass coatings, argon gas fills between panes, and a low U-factor rating. We factor energy performance into every recommendation we make — especially for homeowners replacing single pane windows.
Yes. We install Velux skylights in both fixed and venting configurations. Proper flashing is the most critical part of a skylight installation — done wrong it leaks, done right it performs for decades. We do it right.
It depends on the room, the architecture of your home, and how you want the window to function. Double hung windows are the most common and versatile. Casement windows crank open fully and provide excellent ventilation. Picture windows maximize light but don't open. We'll walk you through the options during your consultation.
