Our Approach

We see potential where most people see storage

An unfinished basement or attic is a blank slate. And that's actually one of the harder things to work with. Without walls, a ceiling, or a defined purpose, it's easy to end up with a finished space that doesn't quite work the way you pictured it.

We start every project by understanding how you want to use the space. A teenage hangout has different needs than a home theater, a guest suite, or a rental unit. From there we design around the actual dimensions and constraints of your space, from ceiling height, egress, utilities, and insulation — and build something that feels like it belongs in your home, not an afterthought underneath it.

What's Possible
Finished basements
Attic conversions
Home theaters
Guest suites
Teen and kids rooms
Man caves
Home offices
Basement rentals
ADU conversions
In-law suites

A finished basement or attic can become more than extra living space — it can become a fully self-contained unit. If you're thinking about an ADU or in-law suite, our FlexUnit™ service is where that conversation starts.

Reasons to finish your basement or attic

What could your unfinished space become?

  • Your kids need their own space and you need yours back
  • You've been storing things down there for years and want something better
  • You want a dedicated home theater, gym, or entertainment room
  • A guest suite would change how your family visits
  • You're thinking about rental income without buying a second property
  • Your basement or attic could qualify as an ADU and add real value to your home
  • You're preparing to sell and finished square footage moves the needle

One point of contact, start to finish

We design around your budget

Many firms design the dream, then hand you a bill that doesn't match it. We start with your number and build the plan around it — no sticker shock.

Your vision survives the build

A lot gets lost when the design firm hands off to the contractor. We can draw the plans and build to them. AKA: what you approved is what gets built.

Your timeline is ours to protect

When design and construction live under one roof, no one else's schedule can slow yours down. We control the process so you're not waiting on a separate third party to move forward.

You focus on the fun part

Finishes, fixtures, how it all comes together — that's your job. Permits, inspections, scheduling, and the heavy lift? That's ours.

75% of our work comes from referrals

We don't take that lightly. It means our clients trust us enough to send their family and neighbors our way. And we intend to keep earning that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Interior trim and millwork FAQs

Ceiling height, moisture levels, and egress are the three biggest factors. Most basements can be finished with the right approach — we assess all of it during the on-site consultation and tell you honestly what's possible and what it involves.

In most Massachusetts municipalities, yes. Finished living space requires permits covering framing, electrical, plumbing if applicable, and insulation. We handle the entire permitting process in-house.

Often yes, depending on your town's zoning and the layout of the space. Egress, fire separation, and utility requirements all factor in. If that's the direction you're headed, our FlexUnit™ service is the right starting point — it's designed specifically for ADU feasibility and construction.

Anything from a home theater and kids playroom to a guest suite, home office, gym, or rental unit. We've built them all. The design starts with how you want to use it.

We sure can! Attic conversions follow a similar process — we assess ceiling height, structural capacity, insulation requirements, and access before designing the space. Attics can become bedrooms, offices, or bonus rooms depending on what the structure allows.

Most basement finishing projects run 6 to 10 weeks depending on scope and complexity. A full basement with a bathroom, bedroom, and living area takes longer than an open rec room. We give you a realistic timeline during the estimate.

Every project comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something isn't right with our work, we come back and make it right.
