Our Approach

We see exterior remodeling as a complete home system

Most homeowners think about their exterior one piece at a time — a roof when it leaks, windows when they draft, siding when it starts to peel. We think about it as a system. How your windows, siding, roofing, and doors work together affects your home's energy efficiency, curb appeal, and long-term durability. When you work with BSDC, we look at the full picture. Whether you're tackling one element or all of them, we design around your goals, specify materials that hold up in New England, and handle everything from permits to installation ourselves.

What's Possible
Window installation
Replacement windows
Skylights
Vinyl, fiber cement and wood siding
Asphalt, rubber and metal roofing
Gutters
Entry and garage doors
French and slider doors

Sometimes an exterior remodel is part of a bigger picture — an addition, a full home renovation, or a property build-out. If your project is growing, our FlexUnit™ service might be the smarter path.

REASONS TO REMODEL YOUR EXTERIOR

When is it time to invest in your home's exterior?

  • Your energy bills have been creeping up and drafty windows are the likely culprit
  • Siding is fading, cracking, or past the point where paint can fix it
  • Your roof has years behind it and you'd rather replace it on your terms than after a storm
  • Doors are sticking, drafting, or just don't look right anymore
  • You want to improve curb appeal before listing your home
  • You're doing an addition or renovation and want the exterior to match

One point of contact, start to finish

No chasing down architects, contractors, or permit offices. You have one team and one person to call, from first sketch to final walkthrough.

We design around your budget

Many firms design the dream, then hand you a bill that doesn't match it. We start with your number and build the plan around it — no sticker shock.

Your vision survives the build

A lot gets lost when the design firm hands off to the contractor. We can draw the plans and build to them. AKA: what you approved is what gets built.

Your timeline is ours to protect

When design and construction live under one roof, no one else's schedule can slow yours down. We control the process so you're not waiting on a separate third party to move forward.

You focus on the fun part

Finishes, fixtures, how it all comes together — that's your job. Permits, inspections, scheduling, and the heavy lift? That's ours.

75% of our work comes from referrals

We don't take that lightly. It means our clients trust us enough to send their family and neighbors our way. And we intend to keep earning that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Exterior remodeling FAQs

It depends on the scope. Roofing and siding replacements often don't require permits in Massachusetts, but window replacements that change rough opening sizes and door installations typically do. We assess what's needed upfront and handle all permitting in-house.

Yes, and there are real advantages to doing so. Coordinating windows, siding, and roofing together means less disruption to your home and often better sequencing of the work. We'll help you think through what makes sense to bundle.

It comes down to your budget, your home's style, and how much maintenance you want to take on. Vinyl is the most low-maintenance option. Fiber cement is more durable and paintable. Wood has the best natural appearance but requires more upkeep. We'll walk you through the tradeoffs during your consultation.

Architectural asphalt shingles from GAF or CertainTeed are the most common and cost-effective choice. Metal roofing is a longer-term investment that handles ice and snow exceptionally well. Rubber roofing is best suited for low-slope or flat roof applications. We'll assess your roof and make an honest recommendation.

Yes, significant ones. New windows, insulated doors, and properly installed siding can meaningfully reduce heat loss and lower energy bills. If efficiency is a priority, we factor that into material recommendations from the start.

Every project comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something isn't right with our work, we come back and make it right.
